Recently, the winners list for the 2024 16th National College Students Advertising Art Contest was announced. Our school's Design and Art College faculty and student team won one first prize, two second prizes, three third prizes, and two excellence awards with their outstanding works.

The National College Students Advertising Art Contest (hereinafter referred to as the "Big Ad Contest") is a national liberal arts competition for universities hosted by the China Association of Higher Education, organized by the National College Students Advertising Art Contest Organizing Committee, and undertaken by Communication University of China and Big Ad Contest Culture Communication (Beijing) Co., Ltd. Since the first contest in 2005, with the purpose of "promoting educational reform, inspiring wisdom, strengthening abilities, improving quality, and fostering virtue in education," the contest has successfully held 15 sessions, totaling 16 competitions, with the participation of 1,857 universities nationwide and over a million student submissions.

The work titled "Hometown of Chinese Mythology" created by Xie Jing, a student from the Design and Art College, won the national first prize. The work vividly depicts Chinese myths such as Pangu creating the heaven and earth and Fuxi and Nuwa creating the world through digital animation, presenting a mysterious picture scroll of Changzhi City in Shanxi Province, the "Hometown of Chinese Mythology," with rich imagination. Instructor Yang Fan stated that "Hometown of Chinese Mythology" is an attempt by the school to optimize and adjust its academic majors. The creator first analyzed the highlights and potential of Changzhi's tourism market development from the perspective of tourism economics, and then vividly interpreted Changzhi's tourism brand image as the "Hometown of Chinese Mythology" through artistic language. This creative approach combining "economics + art" not only promotes the integration of art and the tourism market but also elevates the tourism brand image to become elegant and innovative with the support of art.

First Prize Work: "Origin of Mythology, Dreamlike Changzhi"

The Design and Art College has consistently adhered to the school's unified deployment and requirements, maintaining its orientation as an application-oriented undergraduate institution, actively implementing the teaching philosophy of combining theory with practice, and establishing a reasonable practical teaching system. Students from the college have achieved fruitful results in various competitions. The college leader indicated that in the future, the college will further optimize the allocation of teaching resources, deepen educational and teaching reforms, focus on cultivating students' professional skills while encouraging them to explore bravely, to innovate, actively participate in social practice, closely integrate their learned knowledge with actual projects, continuously improve the quality of talent cultivation, and strive to achieve better results in various competitions.
